📍 Where
London, UK. Moved here on a YMS visa through at least end of 2027. After that, not sure yet. Maybe still here, maybe the US if the path opens up.
London is a good city to land in. The rest is better read than summarised. → First Ten Days in London
đź’Ľ Work
Founder’s Associate at MAGIC AI — an AI-powered fitness mirror that brings personal trainer-level coaching into your home.
- London-based, VC-backed
- $14M revenue with a team of fewer than 15
- Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies 2024
I work as an extension of the founders: hiring, fundraising alongside the CEO and CFO, operations, culture, and early GTM and product strategy.
This is my first time in consumer and hardware. My entire background has been B2B SaaS — so this is deliberately new territory. I believe software will get easier to build with AI, which makes the hardware layer more interesting, not less. Taiwan is also a hardware island. I’m curious whether there’s a synergy worth exploring.
I’m looking for hyper-scaling opportunities. That’s the kind of company I want to be inside right now.
đź” Outside work
- 40+ coffee chats across the London startup ecosystem — still going. If you’re a founder, operator, or investor here, I’d love to connect.
- Writing at hankwhy.com — startups, career, whatever I’m thinking through.
- Using AI to build things I couldn’t before: this portfolio, tools, small experiments.
